Arcturus is committed to making a difference in the communities where we work and live. Through Arcturus Cares!, our national charity initiative, we support the Children's Aid Foundation's Miracle Fund and the Food Banks Canada in communities across the country.
Through corporate donations and our employees' support and participation in Arcturus Cares! fundraising programs, we are doing our part to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.
The Children's Aid Foundation's Miracle Fund is a national organization with a mandate to raise funds and support initiatives that assist abused and neglected children and youth. While treatment and rehabilitation efforts remain important elements, it is also important to address their physical, mental and social well-being. The CAF believes that enrichment activities play a major role in assisting these children. With no government funding for these types of expenses, the Miracle Fund helps to make big miracles happen in small ways. By offering experiences beyond their financial means these children will have an opportunity to have a new bike, take violin lessons or go on a school trip which will have a positive impact on their self esteem. Due to a private endowment, 100% of donations are directed to benefit these high-risk children and youth.
Food Banks Canada is a national umbrella organization representing a network of 250 food banks including provincial associations and food distribution centres in every Canadian province and territory. In Canada, hunger is largely a hidden problem. Many Canadians are simply not aware that large numbers of children, women and men in this country often go to bed hungry.
